Job summary

MedVet in Cincinnati is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our busy ER team. You will be part of a collaborative care model, handling critical cases with speed and accuracy.

This role requires a State-Registered Veterinary Technician license, prior emergency experience, and strong client communication skills. The position offers comprehensive benefits and the opportunity for growth within our network.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license is required.
• Prior veterinary experience is required; emergency experience desired.
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to take on extra hours as needed.
• Strong calculation skills for drugs, IV fluids, CRIs, and conversions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications and wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.

Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician

Proposed work schedule: Monday and Thursday from 3p-3a and alternating every other Saturday and Sunday from 3p-3a (Full-time schedule)

What you’ll do:
