Job summary

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required.
• Current state licensure/permit to practice medical imaging.
• Active Basic Life Support certification.
• Customer service abilities including effective listening.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with patient handling.

Responsibilities

• Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body areas.
• Under radiologist supervision, perform x-ray procedures as needed.
• Explain procedures to patients and address concerns.
• Position patients using immobilization devices to obtain quality images.
• Operate equipment in the ED, OR, and bedside as required.
• Assist with transporting patients and handling contrast materials.
• Maintain patient safety through radiation protection practices.
• Mentor new staff and document activities in appropriate systems.
