Job summary

HCA Florida Stuart Emergency is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographs and assist in the ED setting. Under the supervision of a Radiologist, you will operate x-ray equipment, position patients, and ensure image quality for accurate interpretation.

You will explain procedures to patients, maintain safety protocols, handle immobilization devices, and participate in patient transport as needed while delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• ARRT Certification required.
• Current state licensure or permit to practice imaging.
• Current Certification in Basic Life Support.
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
• Critical thinking and decisive judgment in fast-paced settings.
• Ability to perform work requiring standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operates x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.
• Under the supervision of a Radiologist, performs x-ray therapy on patients.
• Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
• Positions patients utilizing immobilization devices.
• May administer barium salts or other chemical mixtures.
• Operates stationary equipment and/or portable equipment in ED/OR/bedside.
• Takes pictures and develops film.
• Monitors, records and communicates via computerized documentation systems.
• Uses age-specific knowledge in performance of duties.
• Orients and mentors new staff members.
• Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation exposure.
• Provides a safe environment for administering contrast material.
• Assists with transporting patients.
• Follows Standard Precautions with PPE as required.
