Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to support the coordination and implementation of readiness standards for a safe patient and staff environment. The role focuses on coordinating education and exercises to ensure organized disaster response across the organization, including design of lesson plans and conduct of realistic trainings.

The position is full-time, day-shift and based at Silver Cross Hospital's Emergency Department.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher; 3–5 years in healthcare-related field incl. emergency preparedness, safety and/or regulatory compliance.
• Clinical experience as pre-hospital or hospital clinician.
• Prior experience in program coordination.
• Ability to design lesson plans, coordinate courses, and conduct training.
• Familiarity with healthcare emergency preparedness standards (HAZMAT, OSHA, NIMS, HICS, HVA, CMS, TJC/DNV-GL).
• ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 completed within 1 year from date of hire.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field preferred.

Assists in the coordination and implementation of emergency preparedness standards to facilitate a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Assist in the coordination of education and exercises within the organization to ensure an organized response during a disaster.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher. 3-5 years of experience in healthcare-related field to include emergency preparedness, safety and/or regulatory compliance.
• Clinical experience as pre-hospital or hospital clinician.
• Prior experience in program coordination.
• Ability to design lesson plans, coordinate courses, and assist/conduct realistic, simulated training.
• Familiarity with healthcare emergency preparedness, including security, safety, HAZMAT, OSHA, NIMS, HICS, HVA, CMS, and hospital accreditation body (e.g., TJC, DNV-GL) related criteria.
• Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 700, and 800 within 1 year from date of hire.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in related field preferred.

Days - Variable weekday and weekend, Day-Shift; Variable Department: EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT.

The expected pay for this position is listed below: $25.84 - $32.30 The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
