Job summary

Oregon State University is seeking an Emergency Manager in the Department of Public Safety. This full‑time, 12‑month professional faculty role reports to the Associate VP of Public Safety and Chief of Police.

You will develop and grow OSU’s Emergency Preparedness program for the Corvallis campus and other OSU locations. You will manage planning, budgeting, training, and programming related to emergency preparedness/response, work with diverse campus units, and lead the design of EOC and IMT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Minimum five years of professional‑level emergency management experience.
• Completion of specified FEMA/NIMS trainings within one year of hire.
• Strong knowledge of NIMS/ICS.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and grow OSU’s Emergency Preparedness program.
• Lead day‑to‑day operations of the emergency preparedness unit.
• Plan, budget, train, and program emergency preparedness and response functions.
• Coordinate with colleges, departments, and units campus‑wide.
• Design and conduct exercises, drills and tabletop sessions.
