Job summary

The role focuses on intermediate-term emergency preparedness and disaster response program issues with agency-wide application. Responsibilities include emergency program development, strategic planning, grant management, hazard research, and policy evaluation.

Qualifications

• Significant knowledge and experience in planning and policy development and implementation.
• Experience developing and exercising emergency response plans.
• Experience in health communications.
• Experience engaging diverse groups to assess community needs and coordinate activities.
• Knowledge of community environment with emergency preparedness and response resources.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in emergency preparedness and disaster response program issues with agency-wide application.
• Engage in emergency program development and strategic planning.
• Manage Homeland Security and public health grant administration.
• Research hazards and evaluate changes in rules, regulations, and legislative proposals for impact on disaster response and public health service delivery.
• Work independently based on an outline or work plan approved by the supervisor.
