Qualifications

• Education and certifications: bachelor degree; IS-100/IS-200/IS-700/IS-800 within 60 days; AEM within 18 months; National Emergency Management Basic Academy (IS-2200, G0191, E/L/G2300) within 12 months.
• Experience in emergency management: 1 year minimum; university/healthcare setting preferred.
• Licensure/certifications required within stated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and lead cross functional teams within the Medical Center and University to prepare for disruptions.
• Develop, review, and revise Emergency Procedures and response plans.
• Participate in Emergency Response for unplanned incidents.
• Facilitate recovery efforts to return to normal operations.
• Maintain communication readiness for internal and external operations.
• Be proficient with UVA Alerts and Veoci systems.
• Staff an Incident Command Team capable of 24/7 operations.
• Conduct employee outreach and education.
• Comply with Joint Commission Standards in Emergency Management.
• Work evenings and weekends as required during severe weather.
