Job summary

Texas Health Southwest – Fort Worth is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Emergency department. You will support nurses, assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges, and perform clinical procedures with a focus on safety.

The role requires a high school diploma, CLIAFE education equivalence, PCT or EMT-related training, and current BCLS and CPI certifications. It offers full-time night shifts and opportunities for growth within a leading health system.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• CLIAFE compliance regarding foreign education equivalency required.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT or THR approved program required.
• EMT training or equivalent needed; EMT-B level or higher preferred.
• Nursing students who have completed fundamentals may continue in role.
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required prior to providing independent care; maintained.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required and maintained annually.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assistance per care plan and patient/family preferences.
• Collect and report patient data; support admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Perform technical procedures safely and document care accurately.
• Collaborate with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and meet patient and visitor needs.
• Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and effective cross-disciplinary communication.
• Participate in process improvement and uphold safety goals.
