Job summary

ProMedica’s Hickman Hospital seeks a Patient Care Tech in the Emergency Center. The role supports direct patient care, data collection, and coordination of admissions, discharges, and transfers.

You will handle phones, messages, specimens, and ensure supplies and equipment are ready and functioning. The position requires HC-related education, EMT/Paramedic or CNA/MA training, strong English communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent plus EMT/Paramedic, 2nd year nursing student, CNA, MA, or healthcare related higher education training.
• Skills: English; clear communication; telephone etiquette; basic math; basic computer skills; medical terminology.
• Certification: BLS; de-escalation training per unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient care team with examinations, procedures and direct patient care tasks.
• Schedule procedures and coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers and related data.
• Answer phones, take messages, deliver specimens and documents, and support department operations.
