Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Paramedic to join our healthcare team in North Carolina. You will establish personalized relationships with patients and collaborate with nurses and physicians to provide goal-directed care.

Responsibilities include triage, rapid assessment, trauma and critical care response, and continuous monitoring of critically ill patients while awaiting beds or ICU transfer. A NC Paramedic license (or reciprocity) and required certifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience: Prefer at least one year with a paid EMS provider at the Paramedic level.
• Licensure/Certification: NC Paramedic certification (or eligible for reciprocity); BCLS, ACLS, PALS required; ITLS or PHTLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Triage and Intake: receive patients, collect vital signs and medical history, assist nurses with rapid assessments.
• Trauma and Critical Care Response: respond to high-acuity events like trauma alerts and code activations.
• Ongoing Monitoring: monitor critically ill/injured patients waiting for beds or transfer to ICU.
