Job summary

UNC Health Nash Hospitals is seeking a dedicated paramedic to provide personal and advanced nursing care under RN supervision. The role involves patient transport, assessment, and support across Nash, Edgecombe, Halifax, Wilson Counties, and beyond on an onsite, per diem basis.

The position requires EMT-P certification and at least 2 years of paramedic experience, with NIHSS, ASLS, CPI, ACLS, and BCLS certifications obtainable within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P) certification required.
• NIHSS, ASLS, CPI, and ACLS certifications must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• BCLS certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as paramedic.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in and out of car and ambulance; obtain and record vital signs and admission data.
• Ensure discharge and transfer tasks are completed per procedure and transport patients safely.
• Follow Plan of Care; respect patient privacy and dignity and report requests outside the Plan of Care.
• Make rounds to assigned patients, respond to needs promptly, and assist with examinations and procedures as directed.
• Document information accurately; recognize emergencies and notify RN immediately and assist as assigned.
