UF Health in St. Augustine, FL seeks an Emergency Paramedic to support the ED team. The role involves collecting patient information, assisting physicians and RNs with invasive and non-invasive procedures, and ensuring basic patient care needs are met during emergency visits.

Required are a Florida Paramedic License, BLS, and ACLS/PALS/NRP within 6 months. 0-1 year paramedic experience preferred; NAPPI training within 90 days of employment is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associates Degree preferred (i.e. Allied Health Science, EMS, etc.).

Responsabilités

• Collects and conveys information to RN and physician regarding health status of patients during visit.
• Informs patient of treatment plan and assists RN in delivering and documenting care.
• Assists with patient comfort and safety: moving, turning, bed ingress/egress, linen changes, bathing; assists with elimination, I&O, specimen handling; assists with diet and intake.
• Initiates lifesaving measures as needed (airway, BVM, hemorrhage control, CPR, fracture stabilization).
• Stabilizes and extricates injured patients from vehicles at ED entrance; assists patient movement to/from the ED.
• Performs phlebotomy, basic lab procedures, wound care, Coag testing, EKGs and splinting; inserts/discontinues IVs in adults and pediatric patients.
• Directs patient flow and traffic in triage/reception; transports patients as directed.
• All other duties as assigned by department.
