Job summary

City of Santa Clarita is hiring for Administrative Analyst or Project Development Coordinator in the City Manager’s Office. The role coordinates the emergency management program, including EOC readiness, training, exercises, and planning, while also supporting legislative research, grant coordination, and cross-department initiatives.

The position requires night/weekend/extended hours during emergencies and offers a pathway to leadership within the City Manager’s Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Public Policy, Communications, or related field.
• Experience in emergency preparedness, EOC functions, or related programs is desirable.
• Experience in legislative analysis and intergovernmental relations is desirable.
• Public speaking experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day administration of the City’s emergency preparedness and emergency management programs.
• Assist in developing and updating the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and procedures.
• Support EOC readiness, training, exercises, drills, and employee preparedness programs.
• Research emergency management trends, regulations, and best practices; prepare recommendations for readiness.
• Assist with grant applications, reimbursements, reporting, and grant compliance.
• Prepare executive reports, staff reports, and City Council materials.
