Job summary

County of Los Angeles is seeking an experienced emergency Administrative Manager 10, ISD to lead enterprise operational readiness, disaster services, and continuity programs. You will direct staff, coordinate multi‑agency efforts, and provide executive briefings during incidents.

Under an emergency order, the role spans up to 90 days with potential for permanent appointment, and you will be evaluated on performance before eligibility for permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience involving investigation, analysis, and resolution of complex administrative, operational, strategic planning, organizational improvement, governmental, or similar problems, including experience managing, coordinating, or providing direction for a section, program, project, or staff.
• Two years of experience must have been in incident response or related field, involving assessment of risk and operational impact or evaluation and development of action plans, communication strategies, and/or response and continuity planning.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates ISD's enterprise operational readiness, disaster services, emergency management, and continuity programs and strategies.
• Supervises and provides direction to staff responsible for operational readiness, continuity planning, emergency preparedness, and related activities.
• Provides management oversight during significant operational incidents by directing departmental coordination activities and supporting executive decision-making.
• Directs the Department's Continuity of Operations Program (COOP) and implementation of strategies to minimize disruption of critical services.
• Advises departmental leadership on emergency preparedness, continuity, risks, and incident response through executive briefings and situation reports.
