Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking an Emergency Operations Support Center (EOSC) Operator to monitor and assess abnormal events across the Laboratory and to support incident management. You will coordinate the deployment of emergency response assets and monitor the LANL fire alarm system to ensure rapid response.

The role requires an Associate Degree in a related field and a minimum of two years of experience; completion of FEMA courses and familiarity with NIMS/ICS are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), security, medical dispatching; or another emergency/security service or high consequence field.
• Experience working in fast-paced, multitasking work environments; with the ability to quickly adapt and prioritize multiple work tasks.
• Knowledge of word processing, computer programs, and other software packages.
• Knowledge of established procedures for answering multiple radio and telephone lines and providing emergency or critical instructions as appropriate.
• Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal/customer service delivery skills.

Responsibilities

• The EOSC Operator will receive, gather, and assess information regarding abnormal or unusual events and emergency conditions across LANL.
• Coordinate the deployment of LANL emergency response assets, such as Emergency Managers, Hazardous Material Team, and other specialized teams, as required.
