Job summary

The State of Minnesota's Transportation Department is actively seeking On Call Snow Plow Operators for the Cambridge, Milaca and Mora area. These intermittent Emergency positions require a valid CDL and readiness to respond quickly to winter events.

Classic A/B CDL with Tanker Endorsement is required, along with English proficiency for reporting and communication. Shifts are day-time during snow seasons, with on-call duties and rapid deployment to plow and de-ice.

Qualifications

• Experience in snow and ice, road maintenance, or related activities.
• Education substitution allowed for one year of experience via Heavy Equipment program.

Responsibilities

• Maintains roadways for snow and ice control.
• Prepares and inspects winter equipment.
• Performs preseason snow route inspection and post-storm cleanup.
• Transfers anti-icing and de-icing chemicals; winter stockpile setup.
• Installs, repairs, maintains, and removes snow fences; replaces mailboxes.
• Maintains snow and ice data documentation for inventory reporting.
• Performs traffic control setups and notifies dispatch of disabled vehicles.
