Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an Emergency Department physician with board-eligible/certified status in Emergency Medicine. The role includes clinical duties in the ED, teaching responsibilities, and participation in credentialing and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship required or as per VA policy.
• MD/DO degree from an approved school.
• Current, full, unrestricted medical license in the United States or District of Columbia.
• Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited program.
• Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care and management for ED patients.
• Maintain clinical standards and certifications (BCLS/ACLS).
• Ensure credentialing, privileging, and ongoing quality monitoring.
• Supervise residents and medical students as assigned.
• Contribute to teaching and research as appropriate.
• Participate in committees and uphold program goals.
