Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold an MD or equivalent degree and be licensed to practice medicine in the US.
• Completion of ACGME/AOA residency in emergency medicine or related field.
• Board eligibility or board certification in emergency medicine.
• Proficiency in English with ability to comply with VA directives and policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations, stabilization, and treatment for ED patients.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies and coordinate with care teams.
• Supervise ED nurses and advanced practice providers and ensure quality care.
• Ensure compliance with EMTALA, HIPAA, and accreditation standards.
• Participate in facility and department quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Teach and supervise students, residents, and learners in the ED.
