Job summary

SGMC is seeking emergency medicine physicians for its Valdosta, GA locations, including the Main Campus ED and Smith Northview ED. The roles offer flexible night, weekend and holiday shifts with differential pay, and a 1099 employment arrangement with an independent local group.

The position requires board eligibility/certification in Emergency Medicine and GA licensure. Epic EMR experience is a plus as we deliver comprehensive care across a Level 3 Trauma Center and stroke-certified facility.

Qualifications

• Board eligible/certified in Emergency Medicine; family practice/internal medicine considered case-by-case for Smith-Northview location.
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Georgia.

Emergency Medicine - Physician

Full Time position needed for both SGMC Health Main Campus ED and Smith Northview ED, both located in Valdosta, GA. Our Main Campus ED sees an average of 54,000 visits per year with a 23% admission rate. Our Main ED is a Level 3 Trauma Center and a Certified Stroke Center. Outstanding specialty back up. SGMC Health Smith Northview is home to a smaller ED which sees 32,000 patients per year with an admission rate of 4%. SGMC Health is the most comprehensive health system serving South Georgia and North Florida. SGMC Health operates four hospitals across Lowndes, Berrien, and Lanier counties. The system also operates ambulance services, an extensive medical office network, a cancer center, hospice facility, retirement center, skilled nursing facility, imaging centers and urgent cares. Service lines of regional prominence include heart and vascular, stroke, trauma, cancer, orthopedics, surgery, and women and infants.

Position Description

Qualifications

• Board eligible/certified in Emergency Medicine (Family Practice/Internal Medicine with appropriate experience considered on a case-by-case basis for our Smith-Northview Location)
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Georgia
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within an inter-disciplinary team and with referring physicians to provide high quality patient care
• Passionate about quality, service excellence, safety, process improvement, program development and team building.Experience with the EPIC electronic medical record is a significant plus.
• Possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to create a positive and productive environment that promotes collegiality and innovation in all settings
