Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a licensed Physician Assistant to support admission, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment across patient care teams in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree, ARC-PA accredited program graduate, NY State PA license, NCCPA certification, and BLS. You will participate in rounds, develop care plans, document orders, and coordinate discharge summaries with care teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited program.
• Graduate of ARC-PA-accredited PA program.
• Licensed NY Physician Assistant per NYSED.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
• Initiates, documents and communicates the plan of care and follows-up.
• Performs daily patient rounds.
• Writes orders for medications, labs and diagnostic tests; interprets results.
• Confers with physicians and care teams to ensure quality of care.
• Notes discharge summaries, prescriptions and referrals; explains post-discharge care.
• Performs related duties as required.
