Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide inpatient patient care, from admission to discharge, under physician supervision. You will perform histories, exams, orders, rounds, and care planning with the care team.

Required NY license (PA or NP), NCCPA certification, and BLS. A master’s NP degree with board certification is preferred, with strong documentation and teamwork skills essential for high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, required. Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited program.
• Current NYS license to practice as PA is required.
• Current NCCPA Certification required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Master’s Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program and National Board Certification required.
• Current NYS NP license and RN license required.
• Collaborative practice agreement or attestation required.

Responsibilities

• Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
• Initiates and documents the plan of care and follows up.
• Performs daily patient rounds.
• Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostics.
• Interprets laboratory and test results.
• Collaborates with physicians and care team to ensure quality care.
• Notes discharge summaries and referrals on patient charts.
• Provides post-discharge care instructions to patients.
