Qualifications

• Graduate of a PA program accredited by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or its predecessor.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Current New York State license as Registered Physician Assistant, Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Introduces/identifies self as a physician assistant.
• Performs initial assessment/history and physical examination.
• Orders and interprets tests/results (lab, radiology, EKG) based on patient need.
• Documents care in the chart in accordance with hospital policy.
• Formulates diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Triages patients in the ED and reassesses patient condition.
