Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Physician Assistant for the Emergency Medicine Associates program. The role combines clinical duties in the Emergency Department with developing and executing education initiatives for Advanced Practice Providers in the EHM service line.

Requirements include a Master’s degree (PA or Nursing), NCCPA certification, NJ licensure, and BLS/ACLS. 3–5 years of relevant experience and leadership exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Master's Degree in Nursing from Accredited Program.
• PA Certification from NCCPA; NJ licensure requirements.
• BLS and ACLS certifications; CDS and DEA licensure for NJ.

Responsibilities

• Interact compassionately and respectfully with patients and families; manage common illnesses and injuries in the Emergency Department.
• Demonstrate willingness to collaborate with care team members (nurse, consultant, attending).
• Accept responsibility and accountability.
• Support teamwork through cooperative problem solving in meetings and projects.
• Support EHM Lead APPs in site-level training initiatives.
• Connect with EHM Lead APPs and site education coordinator through quarterly education meetings.
• Work with RWJBH EM/HM/ICU leadership to develop APP training, education and mentorship for new hires/onboarding and skills academies.
• Coordinate APP student scheduling placements at EHM Sites for Emergency Medicine.
• Coordinate and execute APP education initiatives for the Emergency and Hospitalist Medicine service line (Bootcamp, Skills Academy, new hire lectures; include POCUS, PEM, SIM).
• May perform other duties as assigned by management.
