Job summary
The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department of Emergency Medicine seeks an Instructor NP/PA to provide clinical care in the Emergency Department at the University of Colorado Hospital, under physician supervision. Responsibilities include ED patient care, data review, triage, and education across age groups.
Minimum qualifications include active Colorado PA/NP license, Master's degree, Board certification, and current BLS/ACLS/ATLS with ATLS by 2026.
Qualifications
- Active Colorado physician assistant or nurse practitioner license
- Master's degree for PA/NP
- CAAHEP/ARC-PA accredited PA/NP program
- Board certification for PA/NP (e.g., AANP, NCCPA)
- Current BLS, ACLS and ATLS (ATLS due by 4/1/2026)
- Minimum 1 year of emergency/urgent care experience
Responsibilities
- Perform histories and physicals on episodic, low acuity ED patients as delegated by physicians.
- Collect, review and correlate data to assist physicians in management.
- Assist in triaging and monitoring patients; refer for appropriate care.
- Schedule patients for clinical appointments and procedures; participate in education.
- Provide direct patient care as needed; administer medicines and therapies as directed.
