Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Emergency Medicine Associates in Long Branch, NJ is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (PD) for Day shifts. This per diem role delivers primary care in the Emergency Department or inpatient settings, with focus on early detection, treatment and prevention of diseases.

You will obtain patient histories, perform exams, order labs and imaging, develop treatment plans, coordinate with the health-care team, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing required.
• NP certification required.
• Current NJ RN license; CDS and DEA.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records patient history.
• Performs physical and medical screening examinations.
• Completes diagnostic and therapeutic studies.
• Orders labs, imaging, and other therapies as appropriate.
• Develops diagnostic decisions and treatment plans.
• Coordinates patient care with the health care team.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding health and referrals.
• Completes charting in a timely manner.
• Manages patient flow in ED or inpatient unit.
• Performs procedures as allowed by state law.
