Job summary

ACEP Now seeks a Medical Director for Preston Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department to lead quality and safety initiatives, oversee resuscitation and stabilization, and ensure smooth patient care transitions.

The role involves collaborating with hospital administration and medical staff, participating in committees, reviewing physician performance, and providing continuing education to clinicians and the community.

Qualifications

• MD/DO residency with board eligibility or certification in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Surgery, or Anesthesiology.
• Licensed to practice medicine in West Virginia.
• Member in good standing of Preston Memorial Hospital Medical Staff.
• Credentialed and privileged to work in Emergency Medicine at Preston Memorial Hospital.
• Valid DEA certificate without restrictions.
• Current CPR certification.
• ATLS certification.
• ACLS and PALS required; NRP recommended.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between the Department, Hospital Administration, and medical staff.
• Participate in medical staff committees and Hospital leadership activities.
• Review physician performance related to medical staff appointment, quality, and efficiency.
• Provide continuing education related to Practice Specialty for physicians, nurses, patients, and community.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and other regulations.

Education

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy residency program in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Surgery, or Anesthesiology resulting in board eligibility or certification

Licensed as a physician to practice medicine in the State of West Virginia

Member in good standing of the Medical Staff of Preston Memorial Hospital

Credentialed and privileged to work in emergency medicine at Preston Memorial Hospital

DEA certificate without restrictions

Current CPR certification

ATLS certification

ACLS and PALS required

NRP recommended
