Job summary

UofL Health South Hospital in Shepherdsville, KY seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join the Emergency Medicine team. The role emphasizes assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute conditions, working with emergency physicians while also practicing independently in Fast Track when appropriate.

Ideal candidates have Emergency Medicine experience, Kentucky APRN licensure, and national certification.

Qualifications

• Previous Emergency Medicine experience is required.
• Master of Nursing degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure in Kentucky as an APRN is required.
• National certification as an APRN (Adult, Emergency, Family, or Acute Care) is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients using interview, history, exam and diagnostics.
• Recognize deviations from normal and formulate treatment plans with a physician.
• Write prescriptions for medications, tests and follow-up studies.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and accurate, timely documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality care.
• Promote evidence-based practice and participate in clinical education.
