Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Shepherdsville, KY. The APRN will evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute conditions, collaborating with emergency physicians while practicing independently in eligible settings.

The role requires quick clinical judgment, excellent communication, and commitment to evidence‑based practice in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment. Evening shifts and a collaborative physician-supported team are offered.

Qualifications

• Master of Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure in Kentucky as an APRN.
• National certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Collaborate with physicians to formulate treatment plans and follow-up.
• Prescribe medications, orders, and routine diagnostics as appropriate.
• Provide education to patients and families and document care accurately.
