Job summary

UofL Health Emergency Department seeks an Advanced Practice Provider for a full-time role with weekend requirements. The APP must diagnose and treat emergent/acute conditions and perform required procedures, while educating patients and families.

The position involves collaboration with faculty, residents, and nursing, handling a fast-paced environment with strong clinical decision-making and schedule flexibility in Louisville, Kentucky. Kentucky license (PA/NP) and ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• KY license as PA or NP is required.
• ACLS certification is required.
• Experience in emergency medicine preferred.
• Ability to diagnose and treat emergent/acute conditions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to assess patient needs.
• Manage fast-paced ED observation unit patients.
• Order, interpret and record test results.
• Diagnose and treat critically ill patients.
• Provide education to patients and families.
• Work with faculty, residents, and nursing.
• Demonstrate strong decision-making under pressure.
• Maintain patient care and safety.
