Job summary

University of Louisville Physicians seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join the Emergency Medicine team at UofL Health South Hospital in Shepherdsville, KY. The APP will deliver comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for acute emergencies in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate holds an MSN, Kentucky APRN licensure, national certification in an Adult/ED/Family/Acute Care NP, DEA, and BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

Master of Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
Current state of Kentucky APRN licensure.
National certification as an Adult NP, Emergency NP, Family NP, or Acute Care NP.
DEA certificate without restriction.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

Provide assessment, management, and outcome evaluation for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Educate patients, families, professional nurses, and staff; act as liaison between patient, family and UofL Physicians staff.
Perform emergency procedures and collaborate with emergency physicians while practicing independently in Fast Track when appropriate.
Conduct physical, psychosocial assessment, interpret diagnostic studies, and formulate treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
Write prescriptions, order tests, and manage specialty clinic operations.
Request and coordinate consultations, interpret findings, and relay information to collaborating physicians.
Participate in multidisciplinary conferences, provide symptom management for oncologic side effects, and assist with admissions.
Maintain and improve survivorship program and clinic; document care accurately and timely.
Promote evidence‑based nursing practice through clinical research and scientific inquiry.
