Job summary

Global Medical Response is hiring an Emergency Medical Vehicle Operator (EMVO) on a part-time basis in Iowa. Drivers respond to emergency and non-emergency requests, transporting patients while delivering high-quality care and customer service.

You will complete safety checks, document trip details, use radios for routing, and work with the fleet and healthcare teams to ensure timely, confidential patient transport.

Qualifications

• State Driver’s License
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• CPR card
• Driving record in compliance with company policy
• Pass Physical Agility Test
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare

Responsibilities

• Respond to operation and dispatch requests and use maps and addresses to transport patients in a timely manner.
• Document trip information and adhere to policies while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Maintain a safe and clean vehicle environment; complete the mechanical checklist at shift start and report issues.
• Use radio transmission codes to respond and route patients and comply with information security standards.
• Operate transportation equipment including stretcher, hydraulic lift, wheelchair and use PPE; manage disposal of supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow drivers and operations team.

• Take pride inmaintaininga safeandcleanvehicleenvironment for patients, complete the regularmechanical checklist at the start of shifts and report any vehicle issues to the Fleet Manager as needed.

• Use appropriatecommunication methods including standard radio transmission codes to effectively respond and route patients and comply with the company’s information security standards.
• Drivers willoperatetransportation equipment including stretcher, hydraulic lift, wheelchairas well asbeable to useprotective personal equipment and manage disposal of supplies as necessary.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellowdrivers and operations team.
