Qualifications

• Time-in-Grade rules apply for current federal employees.
• SF-50 documentation required to prove time-in-grade eligibility.
• Transcript required if basing qualifications on education.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient assessments and identifies life-threatening problems.
• Determines and prioritizes appropriate medical treatment and need for additional help.
• Performs patient triage and records vital signs.
• Examines and assesses neurological, cardiovascular, circulatory, skeletal systems and level of consciousness.
• Administers basic life support at the emergency scene (CPR, meds as allowed).
• Operates emergency vehicles and medical equipment safely.
• Prepares patient and vehicle documentation to meet medical requirements.
• Performs safety inspections and maintains equipment.
• Transfers patients to and from treatment areas; assists in lifting when needed.
• Works max 12-hour shifts with rotating schedules, including holidays; overtime may be required.
