Job summary

Haxtun Health Ambulance in Haxtun, CO is seeking EMTs for PRN on-call coverage. You’ll respond to emergencies and inter-facility transfers, delivering high-quality care in the community.

Position pays hourly base rates of $50–$150 plus commission on a per-trip basis; on-call hours and weekend coverage are included. This is a flexible, as-needed role with no full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires Colorado EMS certification (Basic/Advanced/Intermediate) and BLS.
• Must maintain CPR and a valid CO driver’s license.
• ICS-100 & 700 for NIMS compliance required or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls promptly and provide high-quality care.
• Handle inter-facility transfers and on-call responses.
• Adhere to Haxtun EMS protocols and Colorado Department of Public Health guidelines.

If you're looking for flexible, PRN-only work and a meaningful way to support patients in your community, Haxtun Health Ambulance might be the perfect fit. Unlike a typical 9-to-5 position, this role does not have regularly scheduled shifts. Instead, our dedicated responders provide coverage on an as-needed basis.

Applications are accepted on a regular basis.

Here's how it works:

• Weekday coverage is handled by the first available responders who can answer the call.
• Weekend coverage is provided by two on-call responders from Saturday at 6:00 a.m. to Monday at 6:00 a.m. During this time, you'll receive on-call hourly pay.
• In addition to on-call pay, you'll also earn commission based on a per-trip basis for every call you take.

As an EMT, you'll be responsible for providing immediate, high-quality care to critically ill and injured patients. This includes responding to both emergency calls and inter-facility transfers, all while following the guidelines set by the Haxtun Ambulance EMS Protocols and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current valid Driver’s License
• Must possess and maintain current Colorado EMS certification (Basic, Advance, or Intermediate)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to obtain ics 100 & 700 for NIMS compliance
