Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to respond to medical emergencies on campus and transport patients in accordance with state and university protocols. You will assess patients, administer life support, coordinate with EMS and hospital staff, and maintain equipment and vehicle readiness.

Responsibilities include completing EMS charts, ensuring documentation accuracy, and supporting training and safety initiatives within the health services

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania EMT Certification
• Current CPR certification
• EMS Vehicle Operator (EMSVO) Certification - Pennsylvania
• A valid Driver's License
• Respiratory mask fit testing
• ICS 100, 200, and 700 courses completed within 30 days of hire
• Over 6 months up to 12 months of effective experience; 1,040 hours of prior 911 experience

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical emergencies based on dispatch information.
• Assess patients; determine extent of illness or injury.
• Perform emergency medical aid on scene and during transport per EMT standards, including AED use and life support.
