Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician to respond to EMS calls and provide high-quality patient care in accordance with PA DOH EMS Act and scope of practice. The role includes 40 hours weekly with rotating weekends and holidays, and a focus on safety and education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year in busy 911 system required.
• Certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) upon hire required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
• Certified EMS Vehicle Operator upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to EMS calls and operate an emergency vehicle with due regard for safety.
• Provide health care instruction to patient and family.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist in assessments.
• Administer and monitor IV fluids as needed.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls as an Advanced Life Support Provider per PA DOH EMS protocols.
