Stanly County is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to perform advanced life support procedures in a mobile medical unit. The role involves responding to emergency calls, providing medical care, and ensuring patient transport. Candidates must possess EMT certification and a valid driver's license. The position requires physical stamina, decision-making skills, and adherence to safety protocols.
An employee in this class performs emergency medical procedures at the certified level, providing advanced life support work in an approved mobile medical unit, rescuing victims, and delivering advanced emergency care, including administering life-sustaining treatments on-site and en route to hospitals. Work involves responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, applying necessary medical treatment, and transporting patients to medical facilities. Employees serve as part of a response team, responsible for the medical care administered. The role requires independent judgment in patient assessment and short-term relief. Employees are exposed to hazards such as human body fluids and infectious diseases, adhering to OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards. Work is conducted following EMT and medical protocols approved by the medical director. Pay depends on certification level (EMT, paramedic, advanced, basic).
