Full-time positions available on nights. Pay ranges from $20/hr to $24/hr for a 42-hour work week, depending on experience.

Summary:

Responsible for safely transporting patients and providing basic life support procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, statutes, and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure daily customer satisfaction
  • Participate in patient care within licensure limits
  • Maintain medic unit/station cleanliness and readiness
  • Examine patients, report conditions as directed
  • Prepare medical reports and invoices
  • Attend required training to maintain certification
  • Clean vehicle and patient care areas
  • Report vehicle/equipment issues
  • Assist with routine maintenance checks
  • Perform other assigned roles
Qualifications and Skills:
  • At least 18 years old
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license with a good record
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Current Michigan EMT license
  • Interviewed by Life EMS
  • Pass pre-employment requirements
  • Current BLS card
  • Trauma or pediatric card (based on location)
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports
  • Typing and computer skills
  • Positive, respectful behavior
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and medical terminology
  • Knowledge of city streets and traffic rules
  • Ability to act quickly in stressful situations
  • Skill in emergency care and equipment use
  • Maintain good relationships with team and public
  • COVID-19 vaccination encouraged
Physical Demands:

Requires standing, walking, handling objects, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, and visual acuity. Specific tasks include:

  • Sitting and driving, frequent wrist motions
  • Walking, stair climbing, lifting up to 70 lbs
  • Moving patients and equipment, up to 150 lbs with assistance
  • Climbing ladders, crawling, and other physical activities
  • Ability to wear a respirator; facial hair restrictions apply
