Job summary

County Emergency Communications seeks Emergency Medical Dispatchers in Holloman Air Force Base to handle urgent medical calls, gather patient data, and coordinate response priorities. You will operate an agency-approved dispatch system and provide instructions per protocol.

Experience and training requirements vary; CPR/EMD certifications are common, with sponsorship or agency-specific qualifications as required. Role may include overnight shifts and overtime per operational needs.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or recognized equivalent.
• CPR certification required; EMT or paramedic credentials not universal.
• Sponsored training or require current Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification before appointment.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities
