County Emergency Communications in Texas is seeking Emergency Medical Dispatchers to handle urgent medical calls, gather critical information, and coordinate ambulance resources. Successful candidates will follow approved medical dispatch protocols and stay aligned with oversight requirements.

Role may require CPR certification and EMS dispatcher credentials, with training or sponsored programs available. Overnight and weekend shifts, plus overtime, are possible depending on the vacancy.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or recognized equivalent is commonly required.
• Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification may be required before appointment.
• CPR certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm patient location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel.
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities.
