County Emergency Communications is seeking Emergency Medical Dispatchers in Quincy, MA to support urgent medical responses. You will gather patient and incident details, establish priorities, and coordinate resources using approved protocols.

Depending on training and assignment, you may provide pre-arrival instructions and work schedules including overnight, weekends, and overtime as needed. A high school diploma is commonly required with CPR certification often needed.

Qualifications

• CPR certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel.
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities.
