Job summary

911 Emergency Communications in Crowley, TX is seeking Emergency Medical Dispatchers to help coordinate urgent medical responses. You will gather critical patient and incident details and establish priorities under agency protocols.

Depending on training, certification, and assignment, you may provide pre-arrival instructions and support the EMS team. The role may require overnight and weekend shifts with overtime in some schedules.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or recognized equivalent is commonly required.
• Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification may be required depending on vacancy.
• CPR certification and related coursework may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel.
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities.
