Job summary

The State of Michigan, MSP EMHSD, seeks a leader to oversee the Training and Exercise Unit, guiding statewide emergency management training and exercise programs. The role supports PA 390 programs and local agencies, ensuring FEMA-aligned training is available to emergency managers and first responders.

Responsibilities include PEM curriculum upkeep, PEM exams, ICS 300/400 and AHIMT trainings, and providing technical assistance to state and local programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any major required.
• Four years of professional experience; two years at P11 level or one year at 12 level.
• Eligible for pre-employment screening including drug, background, and fingerprint checks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Training and Exercise Unit within MSP EMHSD.
• Lead local exercise support for SOM counties and PA 390 programs.
• Serve as Training Officers and maintain PEM program curriculum and exams.
• Administer ICS 300/400 trainings and AHIMT courses statewide.
• Coordinate EMPG exercise requirements and provide technical assistance.
• Participate in exercise design, development, conduct, evaluation, and AAR.
