Job summary

The Michigan State Police seeks a Unit Manager to oversee staff in the REP Unit, which supports three nuclear power plants and 18 counties within the 50-mile EPZ. The unit delivers planning, drills and exercises, and SOP development to ensure readiness.

You will coordinate with plant staff, local governments, state agencies and emergency responders, and you must hold a bachelor's degree and four years of professional experience (two at P11 or one at 12). A pre-employment screening is required.

Qualifications

• Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
• Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
• This position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including drug screen, criminal history background check, and fingerprint check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff who guide planning initiatives, conduct drills and exercises, draft and review SOPs, provide REP training, and handle external communications.
• Host the annual Michigan REP Conference, coordinate ingestion pathway committee, and lead the REP strategic plan work group while maintaining bias-free conduct.
