Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Homeland Security, Political Science, or related field.
• Minimum of four (4) years or more of work experience in Emergency Management, Public Safety, or related field.
• Substitution of Experience for Education: Public safety experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis up to four years.
• Substitution of Education for Experience: Graduate coursework may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis up to two years.
• Must possess FEMA certifications within hire period and maintain proficiency in EOC tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead tasks to support department and division leadership in research, policy review, and development of talking points on emergency management issues.
• Maintain emergency contact rosters, take meeting notes, develop surveys, and handle administrative items.
• Support working groups, steering committees, and multi-jurisdictional collaboration forums.
• Lead Tri-County emergency management initiatives and projects.
• Develop and update Emergency Operations Plans, shelter plans, and all-hazard plans.
