Job summary

Broward County seeks a professional to lead planning, coordination, and administration of the countywide emergency management program. The role involves reviewing Comprehensive Emergency Management Plans for healthcare facilities, including generator plans for nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and developing SOPs and hazard plans.

The position requires strong written and verbal communication, data analysis, and the ability to train and present to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in emergency management or related field.
• Two years of experience in emergency management planning or related field.
• Completion of FEMA incident command courses (ICS-100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800) within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Advises and assists the division director on operational and technical matters in emergency management.
• Assists municipal, county, and state partners with planning, training, and outreach.
• Maintains operational readiness of the Division and Emergency Operations Center; develops SOPs and job aids.
• Prepares project applications for federal and state funds and reports on progress.
