Job summary

County of Marin's Emergency Management Coordinator role within the Marin County Fire Department focuses on Emergency Operations, Mitigation, Training, and Public Outreach. You will support OEM, develop readiness, and coordinate with local agencies.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college with major coursework in emergency management or related field and two years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with emergency operations centers and coordinating community programs is desirable.
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze best practices for emergency response and readiness.
  • Maintain the readiness of the County's emergency operations center (EOC).
  • Support staff with deployment and maintenance of incident response platforms.
  • Coordinate with local and government agencies and lead public outreach programs.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate training and education programs for diverse audiences.
