Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, Public Administration, or related field.
• Valid State of Michigan Driver's license.
• Three years of disaster and emergency planning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of emergency management laws and regulations and planning principles.
• Ability to coordinate disaster recovery operations and maintain relationships under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements the Trinity Health Muskegon Emergency Preparedness Program.
• Maintains and updates the Emergency Operation Plan, Hazard Vulnerability Analysis, and Business Continuity Plan.
• Reports and reviews EOP materials with leadership and safety committees annually.
• Participates in regional emergency preparedness committees and activities.
• Develops documentation for education, exercises, equipment and grants.
• Organizes drills and exercises using FEMA guidelines and documents results for improvement.

The Emergency Management Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of emergency management and healthcare preparedness programs across hospitals, physician practices, and affiliated facilities. Responsibilities include emergency planning, regulatory readiness, training and exercises, response and recovery coordination, program development, and stakeholder engagement. The coordinator works collaboratively with operational and clinical leaders, community partners, and regional and system emergency management teams to enhance organizational resilience, continuity of operations, and emergency preparedness across the organization.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree Emergency Management, Public Safety, Public Administration, or a related; or an equivalent combination of training and experience

• Valid State of Michigan Driver's license

• Three years of experience in disaster and emergency planning, preferred

• Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing emergency management. Knowledge of emergency and/or disaster planning principles and practices. Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures

• Skill in managing and coordinating disaster recovery operations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to analyze information under emergency operating conditions and direct the course of action to be taken

What the Emergency Management Coordinator will do:

• Coordinates and implements the Trinity Health Muskegon Emergency Preparedness Program.

• Maintains and keeps current the institution's Emergency Operation Plan (EOP), Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA), Business Continuity Plan (BCP), and all related preparedness policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Ensures that the EOP and relevant preparedness materials are reported to and reviewed annually by Emergency Preparedness leadership, the Environment of Care Safety Committee, and other appropriate leadership.

• Participates in local, regional, and state Emergency Preparedness committees, coalitions and activities as directed (e.g.; Region 6 Healthcare Coalition).

• Develops and prepares required documentation to fulfill requirements related to education, exercises, equipment and grants.

• Organizes, coordinates, and implements periodic preparedness exercises and drills. Uses FEMA guidelines, templates and tools to plan, conduct, evaluate and document drills and exercises for process improvement.
