Job summary

MoDOT is seeking an on-call Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator in Macon Maintenance Facility to perform snow removal and support Missouri roads during winter weather events. The role pays hourly wages that vary by seasonal rate, with an extra $1 per hour for night shifts (7 p.m.–7 a.m.).

Responsibilities include operating snow plows, spreading ice control materials, and routine vehicle maintenance under supervision. CDL required, plus background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• CDL Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status.
• Registration in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic.
• Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]).
• Registration in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen

• Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic
  areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials
