MoDOT—Missouri Department of Transportation seeks an on-call Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator at the Kirksville Maintenance Facility to perform snow removal on Missouri roads and keep travel safe. Hours vary with weather events; the hourly rate depends on area and season, with an extra $1/hour for night work (7 p.m.–7 a.m.).

Responsibilities include operating plow vehicles, spreading ice control materials, and basic vehicle and grounds maintenance under supervision.

Competenze

• At least 18 years of age.
• CDL Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status.
• Registration in FMCSA's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Criminal background check and drug screen.

EMERGENCY WAGE RATES:

• 1st Season - $23.00
• 2nd - 3rd Season - $24.11
• 4th Season - $25.37

What you'll do:

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds. Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]).
• Registration in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen

Special Working Conditions:

• Job may require overtime and night time work.
• Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic
  areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials
