Job summary

Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking an emergency maintenance equipment operator at the Edina Maintenance Facility. This on-call position pays hourly rates that vary by season and area of operation, with an additional $1 per hour for night work (7 p.m.–7 a.m.).

Primary duties include operating snowplows and spreading ice control materials, performing routine vehicle and facility maintenance, and protecting road users during winter weather.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (EI or NI).
• Registration in FMCSA Clearinghouse (Drug & Alcohol).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials. Performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds.

• 1st Season - $23.00
• 2nd - 3rd Season - $24.11
• 4th Season - $25.37

What you'll do:

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds. Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]).
• Registration in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen

Special Working Conditions:

• Job may require overtime and night time work.
• Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic
  areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials
